AI Recruitment in the Tech Industry: The End of Human Interviews?
2025 is here, and with it, a profound change that is redefining how hiring is conducted within the software and technology industry. Artificial intelligence (AI) has ceased to be a futuristic tool and has become the new standard in selection processes. But how far are we from letting algorithms take charge of interviews?
We have analyzed over 1,000 selection processes from the past year, especially for web development, DevOps, Mobile, or similar positions, and we have drawn some conclusions:
— 1 in 3 processes utilized AI-powered evaluations.
— 6 out of 10 stages included automations to speed up and improve results.
In this data, we are including selection processes from Latam and North America (the United States and Canada).
What Awaits Us in 2025?
In simple terms, we are going to start seeing 100% automated selection processes. The first cases appeared in the last few months; in fact, during the month of September, a Panamanian developer from our community was hired by a Staff Augmentation company in the United States, and in the process, he had no contact with humans.
Now, it is good to note that it was for a Nodejs/React position with fairly defined tasks and mainly for the maintenance of an already existing application.
This does not mean that all processes will be automated to this level, but it is good to be aware that our software development market is one of the first to adopt these practices, and we will see a marked impact in the coming months.
A happy start to the year for everyone.
